To me, our inquiry blog was "researching with no strings attached."  (Without a paper being the string in this case, of course.)  From just looking up information in different places (like Google or Atkins library) to commenting on the validity and usefulness of the sources to actually synthesizing them into our last blog post, this was going through the steps of researching.  The inquiry blog is my favorite major assignment we did all year, both because I liked the digital aspect of the blog itself and because I liked my topic.  I did my inquiry on genocide in North Korea and US involvement, and I am truly fascinated (and also saddened) by the information I have found.  For me, the topic helped me learn some global awareness, as well as be aware of my own country's flaws and hypocrisy.  I think this entire process showed me how being interested in a topic makes it so much easier to write about.  With a topic I am genuinely interested in, researching did not even feel like work; instead it felt like something I was looking up in my free time.  Another part of the process I really enjoyed was the second blog post.  Usually when I am researching for a paper or an assignment, I create a word document and copy and paste dozens of URLs into it, but by the time I am ready to write the paper I have no idea what I have collected, and what information came from which source.  I end up having to go back and look at everything again, even things that did not end up being helpful or even relevant.  Writing a few short sentences about what was important and useful in each source was incredibly helpful and something I am without a doubt going to do in the future.  I am also surprised at what Atkins had to offer, as one of my most important sources came from there.  I am used to only using the Internet, but after now I am going to try Atkins first.  Overall, I enjoyed the process and the information that came along with it.  I chose a topic that I want to keep monitoring as time goes on, and I picked up a few important tips in researching.

Reflecting on the Inquiry Blog
